KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- He / She is responsible for managing multiple product development projects in the pipeline. At any given time, there may be many active projects in various stages of development for API, Formulation and In licensing for both injectables as well as oral generic drugs. Projects may also include product line extensions, plant transfers, alternate API source qualification, co-development partnership alliances, contract manufacturing or contract development services.
- Work closely with all levels of Management in product Development, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, Marketing and Supply Chain to achieve company goals within required timelines, including submissions and approvals.
- Define the scope of work of each product, clearly identifying tasks and responsibilities for all Project Managers and establishing target completion dates for all key project milestones. Interface with department managers and senior management to facilitate allocation and prioritization of resources necessary to achieve objectives within established timelines. Manage changes in project scope and devise contingency plans.
- Ensure resources are always matched to portfolio/product priorities.
- Develop and maintain databases and systems for managing integrated metrics across all projects in order to manage & track Project cost /revenue reporting
- Regular resource forecast.
- Participate in and contribute to the feasibility assessment of proposed projects and ventures during the project evaluation process. Maintain a thorough understanding of the future pipeline products and their technologies, e.g. patent issues, manufacturing challenges, pricing and market dynamics barriers to entry.
- Prepare and present regularly to Senior Management the progress reports of the new product development projects comparing results to objectives.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and direct Project managers and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
